Meepster did pretty well on its first road trip:
Note the cruise was set at 72.
Wife and I went down to Oak Island for the weekend. We had free accommodations and could take the dogs.

I feel like I should hate the Renegade’s redline, but I’m childish enough that I can't help but love it.

The redline is a splatter of mud? AWESOME.

That’s pretty damn impressive. Over how many miles?

Advances in fuel economy in just the past 5 years are truly astounding.

It almost never sees redline anyway. It feels faster if I shift between 5500-6000. I guess because it's tuned for mid-range torque - like nearly every other small-displacement turbo engine anymore.

Even though mine is a FWD model. With 1.4t/6m.

In their defense, there’s a tiny mud speck at 6250, so it’s not that far off.

That was the 195 mile drive home this afternoon. The drive down had Charlotte rush hour traffic and then rural NC high school football traffic so it was closer to 32 mpg.
We usually get about 27 on our commute.

Hey that’s pretty go- * sees all the jars of peanut butter*
...
I mean...just...just make sure you separate the ones you’re going to eat from and the ones you’re going to...do things...with. That’s all I ask.

Just take heart in the fact that I’m kind of jelly of your old bronco that cost less than 3 of my car payments to buy and register, and whose mpg sneaks into the teens on a good day.
Also, small-displacement turbo engine + cruise control + mostly flat land + 55 mph zones most of the way = 36 mpg.

The peanut butter wasn't mine. I promise.
